German language group courses for adults - A1

We offer two approaches to reaching A1 level, depending on your goals, timeline, and preferred pace of learning.

Compact A1 programme (standard level, fast-track)
This intensive three-month course is designed for learners who need to reach standard A1 level quickly, often to meet B-permit requirements. The pace is fast, and regular homework is essential to keep up. It suits those who are able to commit more time outside of lessons and are comfortable working under a tighter schedule. The focus is on achieving the required level efficiently and preparing for a language certificate within a short timeframe.

A1 foundation course (higher level)
This course follows a more measured pace and leads to a stronger, more secure A1 level. It allows time to practise, review, and consolidate. It is ideal for learners who want to build a solid and lasting foundation in German, with greater confidence in speaking and comprehension. Lessons go into more depth, with emphasis on consolidation, accuracy, and active use of the language.

Our foundation courses are organised to ensure participants are at a similar level, keeping lessons engaging and effective for everyone. It is therefore possible to join an existing group where appropriate. Courses run in 3 blocks per year aligned with school holidays, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 participants.

On average, it usually takes 3 blocks to complete a level, typically over 8 months, based on two 90-minute lessons per week.

In both formats, you will learn the key skills needed for everyday communication, including introducing yourself, managing simple interactions, and understanding basic spoken and written German. The choice depends on whether you are looking for a fast, results-driven route to standard level, or a more thorough and in-depth learning experience.
